Dear friends and colleagues,

We have been very busy since arriving. We were able to get all of our boxes here and our dear friend who has been very helpful: Rev. Gabriel Anyigba picked us up at the airport and stored our boxes in his home. We stayed at the Penta Hotel for one week and then moved to a guest house at the Osu Children's Home. This was much cheaper and really a pretty good accommodation. The next few days we were busy with beginning to work with the government. This entailed going about four times down to the center of Accra to the Registrar General's offices. A very nice female lawyer handled our request for Incorporation as a non-profit organization. We received the certificate of Incorporation this week. This will enable us to legally begin our preaching and teaching.

We also spent the first two weeks looking for a suitable house to rent, that was in an area where we believed that we could also labor with the people. After several disappointments (houses rented the day before we decided to take them), we found a house in North Legon. This is a nice home that will serve both the volunteers and ourselves. We have had running water only one day in the last eight, but are assured that this problem shall soon be solved. There is work being done on the water works in this area. And we have to have a new connection to the main line. The house is really very nice but the street is very rough, filled with ruts and ditches. Yet passable.

We also found a vehicle to purchase: a four door Mitsubishi pickup that has been ideal. It only had 76,000 Kilometers and is in very good condition. We have made many new and promising contacts both in Accra and also here in North Legon.

Our house address is H/house number 11 in North Legon. Our mailing address is Private Mail Bag #15 in Medina, Ghana, WA. Our telephone number of the permanent line is 233 51 0353. We also have a cell phone which has a number of 233 024 37 50 20 this phone is always with us wherever we are. This has been a real plus for us so that people can get hold of us whenever they desire. Many have as we were looking for the house, car, and working with government. We will begin church services this Sunday in the big room of our house, and will have a Bible Study on Tuesday evenings beginning this coming week. We are assured of having a group of perhaps ten or more for the Study, and at the worship service perhaps more. Two young men in their early twenties are staying on the property when we are not here, and also most of the day. They busy themselves with the yard, helping Jan a bit with the housework and opening and shutting the security gates. They also have been encouraging other young people in their twenties to come to our Bible Study. We will have a detailed News Letter out soon. God has cared for us abundantly and we continue to pray for our churches back in the states. May we ever trust in His care and be faithful to His Word.
