OUR CHURCH IN FELLOWSHIP

This morning we as a congregation celebrate Pentecost, the giving of Christ's Spirit to his church. This evening we celebrate God's love to us in giving us godly mothers. "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her...a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised." (Prov. 31:28, 30)

Rev. Spriensma and Rev. Bill Langerak will be leaving for the Philippines this coming Monday. Besides preaching for the Berean Prot. Ref. Church of the Philippines, they plan to visit the church extension work in Gabaldon, meet with the Bastion of Truth Reformed Church pastors. Pastor Spriensma will be with Pastor Langerak for ten days, and then Rev. Langerak's wife, Karen, will join him as they consider the call extended to them to work in the Philippines.

Filling our pulpit next week will be Prof. Gritters and Dykstra.

Family visitation has been completed and the consistory gives thanks to our God for the peace and harmony in the congregation and the spiritual welfare of God's people under the preaching of God's Word.

Classis meets this coming Wednesday in the Holland Prot. Ref. Church. Delegates to Classis are Elders Doug Bishop and Larry Moerman.  Pray for this classis for the safe arrival of delegates, the weighty material before them, and for the peace of Zion.

Evangelism Committee will meet on May 20.

The Consistory received and granted the request of Brad and Trisha Bruinsma to have the membership papers of their family sent to the Grandville Prot. Ref. Church.  We wish them the Lord's blessing in their new church home.

"I would like to take this time to thank Kalamazoo PRC for the ten plus wonderful years in which we were privileged to be in your midst. I believe many friendships were forged as well as many unforgettable memories...It is our prayer that our heavenly Father will continue to bless Kalamazoo PRC in the years to come under the preaching of the Word. The members of this church will always hold a special place in our hearts." Brad Bruinsma

DENOMINATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

From the Council of Hope PRC (Grand Rapids, MI):  As you know from news reports in this past week, a devastating cyclone has struck the country of Myanmar.  The Yangon congregation of the Protestant Reformed Churches of Myanmar was hit particularly hard. While no members were seriously injured, three families had their homes destroyed and Rev. Titus, our contact in the PRCM, had his home damaged. The conditions in Myanmar at present are very difficult, with no electricity, widespread destruction, as well as food and water shortages.  The Hope Council, using a special fund created to help the saints in Myanmar, sent emergency aid to the PRCM this past week and is keeping in close contact with Rev. Titus to determine how much more help will have to be sent as the situation unfolds.  We commit the needs of the saints in Myanmar to our Heavenly Father who works all things according to His perfect will.
