Today, March 24, is the twelfth Lord's Day of this new year of our Lord 2024. Below you will find special highlights of PRC and sister-church news. It is our hope that these reports not only inform you but also give you opportunity to pray for the needs of these churches and mission fields throughout the world.
If you are new to this website and the PRCA, we invite you to join us in worship today or on any of the Sunday's of this year at one of our local congregations near you; or you may listen online through one of the PRC's livestreams.
And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. ...After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. ~ John 19:17-18; 28-30

SISTER-CHURCH/MISSION NEWS:
- Covenant ERC, Singapore and her Kolkata, India mission work:
- Pastors J. Tan and M. Wee are faithfully serving the CERC. Today pastor M. Wee preached, since Pastor Tan was in Kolkata, India for a special camp meeting. Today's "pastoral note" by pastor Tan comments on this: "The camp theme was focused on Heb 10:23: “Holding fast the profession of our faith”. The spiritual fellowship was sweet as honey, the time the delegation spent there was as intense as it was spiritually invigorating. The delegation was treated to the privilege of answering doctrinal questions and as well as getting to know newcomers to the fellowship. By the end of the short camp the delegation met and came to love yet deeper the saints there. Saints from both the affluent places in Mumbai to the humble outskirt villages of Kolkata. Enjoying some spiritual conversations in English, others in sign language. But all shared that ineffable and mysterious bond of love in Christ Jesus."

This Week's Thought for Contemplation
“In order to lay claim to the honors of royalty, he enters Jerusalem, riding on an ass. A magnificent display, truly! more especially when the ass was borrowed from some person, and when the want of a saddle and of accoutrements compelled the disciples to throw their garments on it, which was a mark of mean and disgraceful poverty. He is attended, I admit, by a large retinue; but of what sort of people? Of those who had hastily assembled from the neighboring villages. Sounds of loud and joyful welcome are heard; but from whom? From the very poorest, and from those who belong to the despised multitude. One might think, therefore, that he intentionally exposed himself to the ridicule of all. But as he had two things to do at the same time,—as he had to exhibit some proof of his kingdom, and to show that it does not resemble earthly kingdoms, and does not consist of the fading riches of this world, it was altogether necessary for him to take this method” (John Calvin, commentary on the triumphal entry).
